In Silent Hill, playable teasers play you!

I was very lucky to have not looked too far into this “PT” game on PSN when I found out about it a day after it was released on PSN, because it’s more fun finding out on your own.

We all know now that this turned out to be a Playable Teaser for “Silent Hills” but damn, it’s not just an awesome playable teaser for a new Silent Hill game, it’s got Hideo Kojima, Guillermo del Toro AND Norman Reedus involved. When people discovered this all it blew everyone’s minds on SO many levels, it was awesome.

Funny thing about PT is that my niece and nephew came over and I got to sit them down in front of it, with my nephew at the controls and my niece right there next to him so they could experience it as well. The results were hilarious and I tried very hard not to laugh my ass off at their reactions.

Now, after many years of being desensitized to everything that’s meant to be scary to regular folks, I find it really hard to gauge whether any kind of horror game is actually doing its job. Whenever something scary happens, I feel nothing. I don’t even get that fabled “feeling of dread” that people constantly talk about. My niece and nephew however, have no tolerance for anything scary, absolutely NO tolerance, as I discovered with this little experiment. They were freaking out at every turn, it was great.

I can’t wait for Silent Hills to come out, cause with the three big names attached and many hard lessons learned from a couple of previous Silent Hill games, there’s a pretty damn good chance that this is going to turn out to be AWESOME.
