It’s time to shift gears and bring back something that was quite popular from my old websites, The Anime/Bubblegum Crisis Center… Welcome to the first of many Caption Corners… though, to be honest I’m going to spread these out amongst other blog posts so the next CC will probably take awhile to appear. If you think you have a great video game related picture to use for a future CC, send it to me by private message… but just make sure it’s a good quality pic and is actually worth putting up.

Just to make sure you all know what you’re supposed to be doing with this… here’s a short explanation: I post a picture and you guys write up a funny caption relating to the picture. Could be anything, I dunno, just as long as it’s funny.

Anyway, the first screenshot is of Link holding a pig above his head with some random dude on Outset Island from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

In my continuing effort to post more articles per month, here is my 6th article… not including that one I posted on SMS before… oh and don’t worry, I’ll give SMS a proper announcement on the anniversary post which will most likely be the next entry.

It was quite awhile ago now, but when the first concept art for “Epic Mickey” was revealed, a lot of people got VERY excited. And how could they not? It wasn’t like anything you would associate with Mickey Mouse… at least not the Mickey we know these days. It was dark, foreboding and very well presented. There were those who believed this art style would go far… until they saw the screenshots which weren’t quite as amazing as the concept art…

Of course, we can’t really talk more about a game that hasn’t even come out yet, so onto the games that have already been released…

I see what you did there…

When you have a character that has been around for a long time, eventually you will have to reinvent and modify certain aspects of that character to reflect the style of contemporary times…

…at least that’s what some characters go through. Other characters who seem to have changed over the years are changing for different reasons. Some characters change their appearance due to art style, others change because of their new circumstance, and some others don’t really change, they’re just a lot more… well equipped than they were before.

Here’s looking at you, kid…
